As the manager and executor of public affairs, the public manager is the fundamental force for the public sector to perform its social responsibilities, and its performance to a large extent determines the success or failure of the public sector.Performance appraisal,as a feedback and control ways to manage and improve the performance of public managers,is of great significance to the improvement of performance. However,in practice, this kind of performance appraisal and evaluation is becoming more and more formalized,to some extent,it does not play a role in substantive improvement of individual performance. The behavior and performance of public sector managers have always been a research hotspot. The impact of the use of performance information on the performance of public managers is also an important issue from the perspective of government governance theory based on public value. In recent years, some scholars have pointed out that the use of results is an important link between performance evaluation and performance improvement, and researchers gradually pay attention to the use of performance information. However, the existing research on the relationship between the use of performance information and work performance is not consistent, there is no unified discourse system, and the impact path is not clear. In this regard, based on the Chinese situation, this paper explores the relationship between the use of performance information and the performance of public managers, and analyzes the impact mechanism between the two.Based on the perspective of public managers' perception, this study usesquestionnaire survey method to test the impact of performance information use on public managers' work performance, uses empirical analysis method for regression analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, and focuses on the intermediary role of organizational identity and the regulatory effect of public leadership. The results show that:(1)the use of supportive performance information has a significant positive impact on the work performance of public managers, while the use of control performance information has no significant impact on the work performance of public managers, but has a potential negative impact;(2)organizational identity plays an intermediary role between the use of supportive performance information and the work performance of public managers;(3)organizational identity plays an intermediary role in the public The impact of managers' performance is not regulated by public leadership. The results show that the use of performance information is the key link and main factor of public managers' work performance, and supportive use of performance information and strong organizational identity can improve public managers' work performance. Finally, this study explains the results of the study, and on this basis, puts forward the management enlightenment and thinking about the future research.
