Mali, one of the West African Countries, was stuck in a long-term South-North conflict. The country was entirely out of control after the military coup in 2012.France and the Economic Community of West African States(ECOWAS)intervened in this crisis respectively but both failed to stabilize the situation. After the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali(MINUSMA)superseded the African-led International Support Mission in Mali(AFISMA)in 2013,the Stabilization Mission in Mali took action officially. In spite of some desirable results, the mission is faced with unprecedented threats of terrorism. The UN peace-keeping force suffered tremendous loss due to the frequent terrorist attacks, which is the heaviest loss in UN peacekeeping operations in recent years. The experience and lessons in coping with threats from terrorism in this mission is worth paying attention to and studying. This paper is divided into five chapters.Introduction briefly states the purpose and meaning of the research, overseas and domestic research status, expected, study difficulties and methods. The first chapter presents the origin of Mali Crisis and the background and process of international intervention. The second chapter concludes the deployment and implementation of MINUSMA,including the authorized task from the UN Security Council and achievements after UN intervention. The third chapter analyses the threats and challenges of the United States Stabilization Mission in Mali, emphasizing the havoc that terrorism wrecks on peacekeeping operations but at the same time provides an outlook of this mission. The forth chapter gives some consideration from the perspective of UN's deployment and China's participation in Stabilization Mission in Mali to make suggestions for UN and Chinese army to better fulfill peace mission in the future.
