Marriage is not only a major life problem for the older youth themselves, but also an important family problem,as well as an important social problem.Since the reform and opening up,China’s urbanization level has been continuously improving, the urban population has been growing. In this process, the problem of old age unmarried has gradually become prominent, and the inevitable link between marriage and family is being impacted. As an important event in one’s life, first marriage is not only related to one’s own development and family happiness, but also closely related to social reproduction and population structure. The delay of the first marriage age will lead to the problem of old age unmarried, and the aggravation of the problem of old age unmarried will cause many social problems. For example,it will delay the emergence of new families, increase the burden of social pension, and become one of the factors of social instability. Therefore, from the perspective of population urbanization, this paper takes the elderly rural youth who actually participated in the process of population urbanization as the research object, and analyses the impact of various factors in the process of urbanization on their marriage delay.Based on the questionnaire data, this paper makes an empirical analysis of the factors that urbanization may affect the delay of marriage of older unmarried men and women.Firstly, through the small sample prediction test, the formal measurement scale is determined,The problem of unmarried elderly is studied from four dimensions: economy, marital concept, environment and employment.Secondly, the data obtained from the formal questionnaire are divided into gender studies.Through reliability analysis and validity analysis, the two groups of sample data have high reliability and reliability, indicating that the sample data can be used in the research; Finally, the structural equation model is constructed by AMOS software to analyze the impact of different factors on the delay of marriage of older unmarried men and women. The results show that there are significant gender differences in the four dimensions which may cause the delay of marriage of older unmarried persons.Specifically, the greatest impact on the delay of marriage for older unmarried men comes from economic factors and employment factors, such as housing, car, child support, education expenditure, employment structure, employment pressure and so on.When the pressure from this aspect is greater, older unmarried men are more likelyto delay their marriage age;while for older unmarried women, the most influential factors are marriage concept and marriage environment factors, such as values, marriage concept,as well as the influence of relatives, friends and mass media. At the same time, through the research results,we can also find that in addition to the gender differences affecting the choice of older unmarried marriages, there are also phenomena of different degrees of mutual influence among the factors causing the delay of marriage, which are manifested in the strong interaction between economic factors and employment factors, marriage concept and marriage environment.
