Because most ethnic minority areas are relatively remote and the information acquisition speed of ethnic minorities in the network society is relatively lagging behind, these groups have shown a clear disadvantage in the information society for a long time. However, under the dual effects of urbanization and network communication technology, ethnic groups began to gradually contact and participate in the information society. In this context,WeChat,as one of the most widely used social media for this vulnerable group, provides them with a new way to live in ethnic communities and communicate with the outside world. While the minority population tells their own stories to the outside world through WeChat,it is also affected and changed by the outside world.Minority groups are“telling”their own stories to the outside world, and in the process of progressive development, they are " renewing”and " weaving”to build an identity of a more advanced and more inclusive community structure. This article starts from the relevant theories of Collins’ interactive ritual chain, and takes theoretical elements such as "body presence","identity access" mechanism, common focus, and emotional energy as the starting point.A one-and-a-half-year investigation and study of WeChat groups in multiple families in Tibetan Autonomous County found that the daily social interactions in these WeChat groups are based on factors such as common culture, region, ethnicity, etc.,and build self-identity through expression and sharing of common emotions Awaken local culture consciousness, strengthen group consensus, build cultural self-confidence,and finally achieve strong identification with the Chinese nation.
