Britain is a capitalist country with profound religious history and cultural tradition.With the establishment and development of capitalist system,its civic education practice activities are constantly enriched and innovated.As the earliest capitalist country,British civic education has formed its own unique content under the influence of political,economic,historical and cultural factors,it has a strongly representativeness.In fact,British citizenship education plays the same role as our country's ideological and political education,they are the practical activities which both serving the ruling class and cultivating citizens who meet the needs of social development.Therefore,the study of British civic education practice not only can expand the theoretical system of ideological and political education,but also have great inspiration for exploring the path suitable for the innovation and development of ideological and political education in our country.British civic education has experienced four stages of development from budding,preliminary exploration,institutionalization construction to system formation,and finally it is gradually perfected by the government.Teenagers is the main object of contemporary British civic education,who are the future and hope of the country,their personal development is related to the progress and development of the whole society.In British history,teenagers generally have the problems with political indifference and weak sense of participation,which has aroused widespread concern of the government and society later.Under the leadership of the government and the active exploration of all sectors of society,the goals of British civic education practice have gradually become clear,with the guidance of its goals,the state,government,schools,society,family and so on have actively carried out civic education practice activities for young people in different levels,and have achieved some significant results,but there are still a series of issues that deserve attention.These achievements and problems can arouse our thinking and provide a reasonable reference for the development of ideological and political education in our country.This paper mainly studies the practice of contemporary British teenagers citizenship education from five parts.The first part is an introduction,which discusses the reasons for choosing this topic,the current status of research at home and abroad,the significance of the research,the points of emphasis and difficulty in the research;The second part defines the basic concepts involved in the article,sorts out the development process and theoretical basis of British teenagers citizenship education;The third part further summarizes the main content of citizenship education practice based on the grasp of the overall goals and specific goals of contemporary British youth civic education;The fourth part mainly expounds the concrete pattern of contemporary British teenagers citizenship education practice in the different levels with state,school,society,family and mass media;The fifth part objectively evaluates the effectiveness and problems of British teenagers civic education,combining with our country's specific reality,puts forward the experience and enlightenment suitable for the development of ideological and political education from the perspective of education methods and approaches.
