Source Distribution Of Foreign Fighters In Islamic State From Europe And America

Under the instigation of terrorist organizations such as Islamic state,the flow of Foreign Fighters shows the characteristics of globalization.Europe and the United States can not stay out of the matter,production of a large number of Foreign Fighters into the Iraq Syria region for jihad.But in this process,there is a puzzling and unanswered phenomenon: why do different European and American countries have obvious differences in the number of export and Foreign Fighters? Based on the radicality and transnational mobility of Foreign Fighters,this paper intends to investigate this issue from two aspects: the willingness and ability of the state to restrain their departure.Based on the investigation,this paper holds that the degree of integration of immigrants and the ability of border control are the core factors affecting the number of Foreign Fighters in a country.The assumption of this paper is that if a country has a high degree of integration of immigrant and a strong border control ability of the government,it tends to export fewer Foreign Fighters;if a country has a low degree of integration of immigrant but a strong border control ability of the government,it tends to export fewer Foreign Fighters;if a country has a high degree of integration of immigrant but a government The border control ability is weak,and the country also tends to export fewer Foreign Fighters.If the integration of immigrant in a country is low and the government’s border control ability is weak,it tends to export more foreign fighters.This paper uses the cases of Belgium,Italy and the United States as examples to verify the hypothesis.On this basis,this paper also draws some inspiration.In order to prevent terrorism,especially the departure of Foreign Fighters,European and American countries should enhance the economic status of ethnic minorities,avoid differential treatment,strengthen their sense of social identity,and then enhance their integration;at the same time,use legal means,intelligence and law enforcement departments to enhance their border control capabilities,which is also to prevent terrorists,especially Foreign Fighters The important guarantee for the terrorists to leave.
