Modernity is the product of historical progress, which can bring benefits to human beings. Therefore,at this stage, human beings are bound to choose and pursue modernity. In order to realize the goal of overall modernity,we should not only emphasize the modernization of economic and political system, but also actively construct the culture of modernity. As an integral part of culture, gender role attitude should also be constructed in the direction of modernity. The existing research has confirmed that the attitude of Chinese residents to gender roles generally reflects the tendency of modernity. How did this trend come about, and whether,in addition to the personal and family factors that have been identified by numerous researchers, the Internet media, which are inseparable from modern humans, have played a role, this is an issue worth discussing in the course of modernization. In order to solve this problem, the author investigates the status quo of attitude towards gender roles and related problems of residents in a small district in Shanxi Province, and makes statistical analysis of the collected data.On the basis of the analysis results,20 randomly selected residents were interviewed in groups in order to further explain the analysis results.According to the measurement, the gender role attitude of Chinese residents shows the tendency of modernity on the whole. On the basis of controlling individual and family factors, the longer the internet media is used, the more modern the attitude of gender roles is.After summarizing and analyzing the interview results,it is concluded that it is the distinct modernity of network media that promotes the change of gender role attitude towards modernity. This paper is divided into three chapters besides the introduction. The introduction defines the related concepts involved in this paper, and summarizes the influencing factors of gender role attitude as well as the related research on media and gender role attitude. The first chapterdescribes and analyzes the differences of the collected data, and measures the status quo of gender role attitudes,o NE-WAY ANOVA was used to test the most important information source and the individual's gender role attitude score, the frequency of Internet use and the individual's gender role attitude score. The results show that people with different information sources and internet usage have different attitudes towards gender roles. In the second chapter, three regression models are established, which are personal factor model, family factor model and network media factor model, and the three models are Regression analysis, after controlling for personal and family factors, the frequency of Internet media use still has an effect on gender role attitude. The Third Chapter Studies the influence mechanism of network media on the modernization of gender role attitude. The network is a kind of personal, free, equal, break with the traditional, changeable media, these modernity characteristics cause people to contact more frequently, the gender role attitude is more modern.
