A Study On The State-owned Banks’ Performance Of The Responsibility Of Public Welfare And Charity-Take China Construction Bank As An Example

In the background of modern financial era,due to the nature of state-owned economy,the state-owned commercial banks in China are in an absolute industry monopoly position in terms of asset scale,market share,number of employees and business outlets.As an important sector of economic development,modern society is more urgent and important for commercial banks to fulfill corporate social responsibility.The meaning of social responsibility has gone beyond our previous emphasiz understanding,that is,we only need to be responsible for shareholders,but now it es that companies must be responsible for all stakeholders including shareholders,and divide corporate social responsibility into four parts: economy,law,morality,charity,etc.Charity responsibility is the sublimation of social responsibility based on the financial and legal responsibilities of banks and financial institutions.It directly reflects the social responsibility of banks and financial institutions at a higher level.Firstly,this paper expounds the social responsibility of state-owned commercial banks from the perspective of charity responsibility on the basis of combing the relevant theories of social responsibility of commercial banks.Secondly,it summarizes the current situation of China Construction Bank in fulfilling social charity responsibility,such as disaster relief donation and social integration.At the same time,it looks up the social responsibility of China Construction Bank,China Merchants Bank and Bank of China in recent ten years The meeting responsibility report summarizes and analyzes the experience of Bank of China and China Merchants Bank in fulfilling the charity responsibility,and points out the shortcomings of China Construction Bank,such as: the scope of charity is narrow,and the way of social public welfare activities is less in charity level.At the same time of summing up the achievements and analyzing the deficiencies,this paper compares the current situation of China Construction Bank and China Merchants Bank in fulfilling the charity social responsibility,and points out that the main causes of the problems are the lack of charity concept,the lack of talents and the lack of internal management.According to the causes of the problems,this paper puts forward suggestions for China Construction Bank to improve the performance of social responsibility of public welfare charity: first,strengthen the charity exchange of senior leaders,strengthen the construction of charity concept;second,establish the cultivation and absorption of professional talents;third,improve the internal charity management.In this way,CCB can not only better fulfill its social responsibilities,but also promote the further development of CCB,so that CCB is in an advantageous position in the domestic financial market competition.
