Autonomous weapons,also known as "artificial intelligence weapons",are the product of the continuous development of artificial intelligence and robotics in the world.Due to its artificial intelligence characteristics,autonomous weapons have extremely powerful operational "autonomy".During armed conflict,attacks can be launched without human manipulation.On the one hand,autonomous weapons not only bring powerful military driving forces and stimulate the development of countries around the world,but also because their actions are not controlled,the future application to armed conflict will bring great uncertainty.Certainty is mainly reflected in the possibility of the future application of autonomous weapons in violation of the law of armed conflict,and the future application of autonomous weapons will trigger an arms race and give rise to unstable factors worldwide.As a result,all sectors of the international community have shown great concern about the future application of autonomous weapons.This article is divided into four chapters to discuss "law application of autonomous weapons in armed conflict." The first chapter is the emergence of autonomous weapons and its impact on armed conflict.The author aims to study and demonstrate the definition,physical characteristics,and legal characteristics of today 's autonomous weapons,and to place them in the context of armed conflict toexplore better the effects of autonomous weapons on future armed conflicts.First of all,the author introduces the overview of autonomous weapons.Due to the divergent views on the definition of autonomous weapons by various countries and international organizations around the world,there are some parts that involve physical definitions,as well as the analysis of legal definitions of autonomous weapons.The author abstracts a part that has certain commonality from it,in order to further clarify the definition of autonomous weapons for the reader,and creatively analyze the offensive and defensive characteristics of autonomous weapons as weapons."Exceptions" make a certain theoretical foundation,and at the same time lead to the statement that "autonomous weapons can be applied at the time of national life and death."
