Under the background of popular education,the relationship between supervisor and doctoral students is more and more concerned by researchers and even the public.Teacher-student relationship not only determines the graduation of doctoral students,but also to a certain extent,the influence of the academic reputation of the mentor.Since it is a crucial factor that affects both sides,we should pay close attention to it.Whether the doctoral students have a good relationship with their mentor in the doctoral stage influences their goal of graduation.Whether from an academic perspective or a personal perspective,the existence of supervisor is a key factor influencing the quality of doctoral training.The present study takes the relationship between supervisors and students in the eyes of students as the entry point,discusses its influence on the quality of doctoral training,sums up and extracts beneficial doctoral training experience to improve the quality of.The focus of the present study is on the process of doctoral training.The qualitative research method is used to explore the affecting factors of doctoral students' choice of the mentor,their opinions on or expectation of the mentor,and the condition of the mentor.Secondly,through the corresponding practice research,to provide guidance for the supervisor,which can provide further reference for some young teachers who have not yet had personal experience.The method of literature research and case study are utilized in the present study.Interview outline and research code table are designed based on the literature work and the design of concept of structural map.Then,the interview outline is supplemented.Afterwards,three 985 university doctoral students are invited to conduct an official interview,and analysis path from the general to the special are conducted.Meanwhile,analyze factors affecting teacher-student relationship on the quality of doctoral training from the perspectives of the quality of preparation,process and outcome.In the present study,we select three 985 universities in North China,Northwest China and South China respectively.We also learn about the academic and personal background of the mentor,and the number of students they are guiding so as to facilitate the research.Through the analysis of the data,the conclusions are as follows:first,the background of the mentor and doctoral student,and the academic environment influence the quality of preparation;second,the mentor personal characteristics,mentor guidance and teacher-student interaction affect the quality of process;third,the quality of outcome are made of mentor influence.and student.The following suggestions are made on three dimensions:advice for preparation is to understand motivation,to clarify the criteria for selecting the mentor,to optimize the teacher-student relationship as well as to improve the scientific research environment;advice for process is to strengthen teacher-student dialogue and interaction and adhere to the mentor self-education and promotion;advice for outcome is to evaluation and supervision mechanisms.
