The building of faculties' team in colleges and universities has been a concerned issue in the process of the development of higher education,among which that of the team structure cannot be underestimated.At present,the optimization of faculties'team structure in colleges and universities is vital for the further development and improvement of the higher education in China.The corresponding faculty structure adjustment is required to adapt to the development of higher education in a new phase,especially,at the key point transiting from the popularity of higher education to its popularization.The educational background structure of full-time faculties in universities is an important component of the overall faculties' team,meanwhile,it is also a significant symbol of reflecting the learning levels of faculties' group,knowledge reserve and theoretical foundations.Therefore,the further optimization of educational background structure of full-time faculties in universities has a very important significance for the improvement of the faculties' team in overall level.The article firstly studies the changes and development of educational background structure of full-time faculties during the two decades from 1995 to 2015.The analysis of that changes and development is conducted from three aspects;the changes of full-time faculties' amount of the degrees on doctor,master,bachelor as well as others;the changes of the average number of each educational level of full-time faculties of per student;the changes of the average years of schooling of the full-time faculties.According to the analysis and research,the conclusions can be drawn as:The educational background structure of full-time faculties has been improved and optimized on the whole from 1995 to 2015.However,at present,there are still some problems,such as:a total shortage among faculties of high educational background;a main portion of the full-time faculties of bachelor degree;a low value in the average number of high educational level of full-time faculties of per student,low education years of full-time faculties.Secondly,the article studies the area distribution of educational background structure of full-time faculties.The study analyzes these situation in the 31 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities;or divided into 4 geographical regions as the northeastern region,coastal eastern region,central region,western region.Based on the analysis and research the conclusions can be drawn as:At present,there is a large gap of educational background structure of full-time faculties among different regions,mainly embodied as the following aspects:the largest educational background gap appears on the full-time faculties of doctor degree;the most obviously difference of educational levels of full-time faculties lies between the coastal eastern regions and central,western regions,the full-time faculties in western region has plenty of room to improve and optimize.Based on these conclusions,the article has studied the transition phase from education popularity to its popularization of American higher education,as well as the educational background structure of faculties at the primary phase of education popularization.The fact that it is very necessary to improve and optimize the educational background of full-time faculties in China at the transition phase can be further emphasized through the research and analysis.Finally,the corresponding strategies are put for the issue of full-time faculties' educational background in colleges and universities,and related advises and measures about the optimization of full-time faculties' educational background are mentioned from different perspectives of government,college and university,full-time faculty.
