The examination-oriented education system is a kind of educational model which is dissimilated by everlasting examination while violating education laws.It has a whole set of system to maintain self-consistent,which disciplines teachers to form fairly similar teaching style:fanatic about admission,evaluating students by examination performance and taking instilling as a mainly teaching method.This theory is universal but not absolute.Classroom instruction activity is not only influenced by examination-oriented circumstances,but also concerned with personalities and educational beliefs of teachers.Adopting the form of field study,this research focus on a beginning political teacher at a middle school in Liu Yang,Hunan province,who firmly oppose the examination-oriented education system.The research was aimed to seek the change of this teacher's classroom style as well as causation and meaning of the change.I found that there were two key turn points in her first year of career.In the first point,she fell into a condition of accepting examination-oriented behaviour under compulsion instead of strong resisting,which was called the discipline of teacher by examination-oriented education system.In the second point,she became to be initiative to be disciplined for the sake of striving for more teaching liberty.Both of turns are significative to remission of examination-oriented education problem.The first turn can be summarized as "reality recognization",what is to say,problems cannot be cast off overnight so that teachers can hardly solve it individually.The second turn means the beyond of reality,which remind us that teachers are able to win over teaching liberty in the base of accomplishments of leader's task by being initiative to be disciplined,which leads to a reconciliation between ideal and reality.The conclusion also indicates a discovery of probable harmonious relationship between the examination-oriented education and quality education system.Specifically,they rely on each other,and there is no unescapable contradiction between them.The action of developing quality in the base of examination-oriented classroom may be the approach to solve the dispute about examination-oriented education and quality education.
