One of the major tasks of mathematical teaching in senior high school is to study basic knowledge and basic skills mastering studying methods of mathematics,to develop students' thinking habits,to enable students to acquire learning methods in the study of knowledge and skills,and to cultivate their lifelong learning ability through learning transfer.Although the new curriculum reform has already been implemented for several years,some senior high school teachers give up new approach under the pressure of the college entrance examination,and the teaching reality characterized by large content but limited lesson period.Consequently,the class is deprived of active learning and students' study motivation and efficiency is low.Moreover,the mathematical thinking ability of the senior high school students is immature and requires further cultivation.Their thinking ability and creativity tend to be limited for the shortage in the clarification of the relationship between different knowledge,the extraction of information,and the independent ability of constructing knowledge and learning method.In light of the situation above,this paper attempts to discuss the application of Mind Mapping to the teaching practice sequence of number based on the literature research method,questionnaire method,and case study so as to realize the transition from a passive,monotonous learning to an active,cooperative,and inquiring learning and the cultivation the ability to extract information,construct complete knowledge systems,innovate and think actively and creatively.Besides,teachers can learn the depth of students' thinking and the completeness of the knowledge from the students' feedbacks in mapping,and then provide correspondent evaluation and feedbacks.Consequently,the efficiency of the teaching and learning will be promoted.Moreover,the new method can arouse students' learning interest and develop their thinking abilities and lifelong learning abilities.Research has shown that the application of Mind Mapping to the teaching sequence of number can promote students' memory power for knowledge,enhance their ability to construct knowledge and solve mathematical problems.It can facilitate the promotion of student's' learning interest in mathematics.
