In order to adapt to the demand of changing times,school,family and society emphasizes that students should learn to practice and create.For contemporary children,taking part in social practice is a important way to learn how to create.In the process of participation in social practice,it's necessary that the only-child and the non-only-child should learn knowledge,skills and the innovation ability.According to the above reasons,based on family investment in human capital and personal socialization theory,in order to know the students' social practice condition,we use the interview and questionnaire survey in eight counties of Hubei province.The results indicate that although the only-child and the non-only-child both have strong participation wishes,but actually the degree of participation is low.Meanwhile,the participation of the only-child is clearly higher than the non-only-child.And the type of practice is richer.The low participation of the only-child and the non-only-child is caused by the following reasons.First,parents increase the burden of studies on children,and they rarely ask their children to attend multiple social practice.Second,because schools only seek the proportion of students entering higher school,they seldom organize social practice.Third,affected by social atmosphere,students don't have time and effort to take part in social practice.Therefore,there are some measures to increase the participation.First,parents should change traditional educational idea and encourage children participate social practice.Second,schools should organize more practice and enrich practice types.Third,different social sectors should administrate cooperatively and create a favorable social atmosphere.Moreover,the reason why the participation of the only-child is higher and the type of practice is rich lies in family education.In other words,the atmosphere of the only-child family is more harmonious,and parents take more time and effort on their children.Therefore,for the non-only-child family,parents should create a favorable family atmosphere,and encourage children to take part in social practice.
