Impact Of Social Network On Life Satisfaction Of Land-losing Farmers During The Demolition And Transition

The rapid economic growth in China has accelerated the process of urbanization in China.The acquisition of land and the demolition of housing as a very important preparatory work in the process of urbanization have affected the stability and unity of the society.Landless peasants have also become a special group that attracts more and more attention.Therefore,understanding the prospects,concerns,and appeals of landless peasants for the post-demolition life is crucial to the smooth implementation of the demolition work.The traditional Chinese society is an "acquaintance-society",and "relationships" exist in many social and economic activities,but whether the relationship and friendship will affect the attitude of the landless peasants on the demolition,increase the happiness of the landless peasants and improve their life satisfaction?Based on the field survey of the "Research Survey on the Resettlement of J City Demolition and Resettlement" in 2015 and the data of the telephone interviews conducted after one year and 9 months after the demolition,this paper starts from the perspective of social network in the context of rural demolition,compares the degree of the life satisfaction of farmers before and after demolition with different social network and analyze the relationship between social network and landless farmers' life satisfaction by using different econometric models.The study found that:(1)The satisfaction of the villagers after the demolition of the village committees generally increased;and the satisfaction degree of the villagers after demolition showed a downward trend;(2)The changes in life satisfaction before and after the demolition of villagers with different social network were different,the satisfaction of demolition of villagers with strong relationships is greatly reduced.;(3)The change of social network plays an important role in the changes of the villagers'life satisfaction;(4)The gender of the children and the cost of demolition compensation will have an impact on the satisfaction of the villagers after their demolition.In the process of rural land requisition and demolition,giving full play to the role of social network and understanding of the targeted needs of farmers with different social network and landlessness will help improve the living conditions of landless farmers after demolition,promote the improvement of their life satisfaction after demolition,and ensure smooth implementation of demolition work.
