With the development of information technology and the growth of people's need for social contact,social media such as WeChat,MicroBlog have been playing significant role in people's daily life.WeChat not only offers a tool for users to remain contact with friends and families,but also offers a platform for users to present themselves.When WeChat Moment helps us to express ourselves,others' WeChat Moment posts are also influencing our Psychology.Previous researches suggest that social media can affect people positively and negatively.WeChat's influence among young netizens increases rapidly.Nowadays,college students grow up with the development of digital products.This research investigates from the perspective of subjective well-being,taking affect as the measurement index of subjective well-being,college students as object of study,in order to discuss the influence of browsing WeChat Moment on Beijing college students' subjective well-beingThis research takes social comparison theory as frame,by studying the literature of social comparison direction,relational closeness,self-esteem and usage time of the media.This author adopts 125 Chinese 30 foreign college students as study samples,questionnaire method of quantitative research as research method to investigate college students' subjective well-being and discuss how social comparison direction,relational closeness and self-esteem influence college students' subjective well-being in the process of social comparison when they browsing WeChat Moment.The results of this research indicate:First,after browsing WeChat Moment,college students' subjective well-being is positive.Second,there is no significant difference between male and female students,but the male students' subjective well-being scores are a little bit higher than female students' scores.Third,compared to downward comparison,participants feel happier when experiencing upward comparison.Fourth,relational closeness influence Chinese college students'subjective well-being.When experiencing social comparison with close friends,Chinese students feel happier than with distant friends.But there is no significant difference for foreign students.Fifth,Chinese students' self-esteem has significant positive correlation with subjective well-being after experiencing upward and downward social comparison.But there is no correlation for foreign students.Thus,during the process of social comparison,the usage time of WeChat can influence the effect of self-esteem and relational closeness on subjective well-being.This research applies traditional social comparison theory to social media which further enhances people's understanding of this theory.And it also provides people a more rational perspective to treat WeChat Moment.
