Studying in China is an important part of China's education and a strategic move to strengthen the building of the country's soft power and consolidate the country's diplomatic connections. With the steady development of China's economy,China and African countries have become increasingly close contacts in various fields such as economy, education, politics and culture. In particular, the proposal of "China-Africa Education Ministers Forum","20 + 20 cooperation projects between Chinese and African universities and the One Belt and One Road" policy has greatly promoted the study of the relevant expertise of African students in coming to China.Statistics show that in 2016 there were 61,694 students from Africa to China, and the consequent cross-cultural adaptation problems have become increasingly obvious.Previous studies have shown that cross-cultural interpersonal communication directly affects the quality of life and learning efficiency of international students in China, especially for African students with special complexion. In this paper,Jiangxi Normal University, which has a large number of international students in Africa,is selected as the research site. The research method of combining questionnaires and interviews is used to study the related theories of intercultural communication, psychology and interpersonal relationships with intercultural management as the starting point The status quo, difficulties and influencing factors of African students' interpersonal communication. The study found that the situation of interpersonal relationships among African students is worrying. Both sides have the problems of non-intercultural and intercultural exchanges between China and Africa, low frequency of interaction, shallow interaction and tight interpersonal relations. The main reasons leading to these obstacles are: the deviation of interpersonal cognition, the similarities and differences of cultures, the differences of life styles, the lack of communication platform, the language barrier and the weakening and deficiency of communicative motivation.
