Since China's reform and opening up,the economic construction of China has made remarkable achievements,which is followed by the high-speed development of national defense construction.As an important link of national defense construction,troopsreplacement is a prerequisite for effective safeguard and a strong support of the national security.Nowadays,with an average number of 237500 veterans who were the former national defense construction participants in our country each year,the veteran resettlement work arise attentions from all aspects of the society.At the same time,with the transformation of government policy,the dominant function of government drops and the traditional veterans resettlement work is hard to meet the demand of retired soldiers employment,thus most veterans have to seek a way out of their own.Veterans will inevitably experience the transformation and adaptation of the occupations and lives in the process of returning to normal life from army life.It is a process of constant adjustment involving three aspects:fitting in,mental adaptation and social acceptance.Whether veterans succeed in resettlement has a very important practical significance in stabilizing the morale of the soldiers and safeguarding social harmony and development,thus the government and society attach great importance to it.Based on the social work practice of Y community in Wuxi City,this study aims at veterans' adaptation obstacles status quo in the process of resettlement and further selects typical veteran who faces obstacles in adaptation of resettlement as subject in the community.Starting from the perspective of social work practice,the study gives intervention from four aspects:personal adaptation ability,professional skill,professional identity,government policy guidance and pointedly go in-depth study on the adaptation problems of the subject from various levels,and evaluate intervention effect.Finally,this paper summarizes the research on social work intervention for veterans' resettlement adaptation obstacles,explores practical methods and strategies for veterans,resettlement adaptation obstacles from a new perspective in order to improve veterans' adaption ability.Through the survey among 52 veterans of Y Community,it reflects that they are generally young,at different educational levels and with poor interpersonal skills.Combined with the research purpose and the actual situation of veteran subject of Y Community,it can be seen that from the causes of adaptation obstacles,there are mainly three levels:the first is on the policy law level,the second is on employer level and the third is on veteran level.Based on such investigation and analysis,this paper further picks up representative Subject Zhang in Y community.With the method of case study to intervene veterans'resettlement adaptation obstacles,this study chooses crisis intervention pattern and the psychological and social treatment model for social work intervention.After making clear the subject's problems and using relevant theory to carry out the analysis,this study further formulates matching service plan and explores the solution of veterans' resettlement adaptation obstacles through the typical case.Based on the investigation and case study of social work intervention for improvement in resettlement adaptation ability of veterans in the community,from the point of social workers,community veterans as well as social work profession,it can be seen that it is workable to intervene veterans' resettlement adaptation obstacles through social work professional knowledge,but in the process of social work intervention,only by reasonable use of community resources to get community support can maximize the intervention effect.In addition,whether case work intervention for certain subject could apply to other veterans who have similar problems remains to be seen.In conclusion,this study aims to open up a new way to research the veterans' resettlement adaption obstacles to lay a foundation of a better service for veterans.
