Polar coordinates and polar coordinate equations are the main contents of the national college entrance examination(mathematics),this part due to the abstraction of content and requires students to have the knowledge reserve of analytic geometry,trigonometric function,plane vector and certain space imagination ability,lead to most students have poor interest in study,and the teaching effect is not satisfactory.In order to improve the teaching effect of "polar coordinate and polar coordinate equation",only the teaching plan which conforms to the teaching status can be realized.Therefore,the teaching of polar coordinates and polar coordinate equations is studied in this paper.The main research contents and results are as follows:In this paper,teachers and students of the second middle school of shuozhou city Shanxi Province were taken as the research object,the teaching status of polar coordinates and polar coordinate equations is studied by means of questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview.Firstly,through the analysis of the present situation of teaching,it is found that teachers still choose the traditional teaching method in the classroom.There was less interaction with students,less use of multimedia teaching,and little explanation of relevant mathematical history.Secondly,according to the existing problems in present situation of teaching,meanwhile,combining the teaching theories and methods,such as fan hill's theory of geometric teaching ? constructivism,cognitive discovery learning ? the integration of mathematics and mathematics history.The concept of polar coordinate system,polar coordinate equation of circle and polar coordinate equation of conical curve are designed.Finally,the teaching case practice was carried out with the control experiment,and the effect of the design teaching cases was analyzed.The results showed that presented mathematics knowledge to the students with diversified teaching methods,at the same time,integrating into the history of mathematics,adopting new teaching tools,and deeply understanding the psychological changes in students' learning process can greatly improve the teaching effect and improve the academic performance.
