Novel teaching plays an important role in the whole Chinese teaching of junior middle school,and teachers’ interpretation of novels plays a guiding role in improving students’ literary appreciation,aesthetic taste and so on.The use of situational teaching method in novel teaching plays a positive role in changing the boring teaching process.Therefore,better application of situational teaching method in junior middle school novel teaching can promote the improvement of teaching quality.Pingdingshan Experimental Middle School,the first demonstration middle school in Pingdingshan City,puts forward effective teaching before the new curriculum reform.While exploring the new teaching idea of"effective teaching",the novel situational teaching undertakes the task of actualizing the link of "effective classroom".Through the constant efforts of all Chinese teachers in the whole school,the novel situational teaching has made some achievements,which provide the guarantee for the realization of effective teaching.Pingdingshan Experimental Middle School has advanced ideas of running a school and simultaneously is an early junior middle school of novel situational teaching of the city,which is of certain typicality.Therefore,taking the students and teachers of this school as the objects of investigation,the author focuses on the investigation of the present situation of situational teaching in this school,including the teachers’cognition of situational teaching,the purpose of the situational teaching of novels and the method of organizing the situational teaching of novel as well as students’ interests in novel learning,their attitude to novel situational teaching and the effects of novel situational teaching.By observing the performance of teachers and students in classroom,the author comes to know the current situation of novel situational teaching in experimental middle school.Through the investigation,it is found that the experimental middle school has achieved certain results in the teaching of novel situation,mainly in promoting the further development of effective teaching,developing students’ good reading habits and contributing to the development and utilization of school-based teaching materials.However,some problems are kept,which are mainly shown in that the creation of situation is divorced from the text and teaching goals,that the students passively accept knowledge and that the situation is implemented hastily.In view of the problems above,Pingdingshan Experimental Middle School should create situations in three aspects from text,students and teachers.Firstly when teachers create situation,they should grasping closely the creation of situation based on the elements of the novel,and try to realize the construction of teaching situation which are closely around the three aspects:the novel environment,the character and the plot,and must carry on the novel situation teaching based on the text and the teaching goal;Secondly,teachers should focus on creating diversified situations when creating situations,from the possibility,mobility and openness and other perspectives to create a situation in line with the characteristics of students’ physical and mental development;In addition,teachers should constantly renew their own ideas and effectively improve situational creation skills in the process of focusing on the consistency of situational creation and highlighting the whole process of situational implementation.The process of situational teaching of novels is supposed to be a process of teaching with pleasure,in which teachers may realize something and students gain from the process of teaching.Pingdingshan Experimental Middle School should constantly promote the development of novel teaching,making the situation teaching of novel no longer become a difficult problem,and realize the transformation of Chinese teaching to "effective teaching".
