With the advancement of technology,more and more attention has been paid to the study of algebra,especially the algebra teaching in primary school,which deserves us to study further."The Math Curriculum Standards(2011 Edition)” divides primary school mathematics content into four parts: number and algebra,graphics and geometry,statistics and probability,synthesis and practice,the proportion of "number and algebra" is the largest,among which the algebraic contents such as formula and equation and positive and negative ratio are the key contents of primary mathematics learning.At the same time,as early as 2001 November 12 th,the meeting aimed to "explore algebra education of the future",had set up a early algebra team,which specifically to study the start of algebra teaching,this more embodying the international importance of primary algebra teaching.The algebra teaching in primary school is the key stage of developing students' "algebraic thinking",which is related to the students' subsequent algebra learning,so we must do a further study.Based on the research questions,this paper adopts literature research method,text analysis method,case analysis method,and interview method,has been studied in elementary school algebra,the knowledge structure of elementary school algebra,and the main problems in class teaching,and established the basis of theoretical research.Then,on the basis of literature review,the core concept is defined.Firstly it is clear that that teach of elementary algebra is developed around the teach content of the "number and algebra",which is focused on the cultivation of "algebraic thinking" by student;Secondly,analyze three characteristics of "algebraic thinking" : Symbolic operation of form,rule-based reasoning,mathematical modeling activities.And the research should be carried out from three aspects: symbol expression,symbol transformation and symbolic meaning construction..Then,based on the literature research,the present study of elementary algebra learning is carried out,going through the textbook,class,student and teacher interviews,The main problem of discovering elementary algebra teaching is: the "algebraic" method cannot be used flexibly;the basic concepts don't go far enough;the quantity relation is not clear;the summation of knowledge is not deep.According to the problems,put forward four teaching strategies: Induce communication in "reality" to form algebraic thinking;Broaden the understanding of "number" to uncover the essence of algebra;Grasp the "quantitative relationship" to build a model of the problem;Consider the "linkages" in mathematics to grasp the connection and development between the knowledge points.Finally,according to the proposed teaching strategy,combined with the teaching requirements,make a teaching design about "meaning of the equation",provide some references to the teaching of primary algebra.
