With the changes of the epoch.The international comparative study of education has become a hot spot in education research areas.The comparison research on curriculum and textbook among countries has also become an important research content.Korean,one of the maritime neighbors of China,has achieved very good results in many international assessments.Calculus is an important part of mathematics which has be involved in high school education.It is helpful to understand the Calculus Course of Korea and provide reference for our curriculum and education by means of comparing between Chinese and Korean mathematics coursesThe study selected "General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards(Experiment)" promulgated by China in 2003,"National curriculum" promulgated by Korea in 2009.Both of which are the standard texts being used by China and South Korea now,"General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards" promulgated in 2017,and "National curriculum" promulgated by Korea in 2015 are the newly enacted curriculum for these two countries.These four texts are employed as research objects to count the number of knowledge and the learning goals related to China and Korean's Curriculum.Existing breadth,depth,and difficulty models are used to quantify curriculum standards in both countries.Also,the mathematics textbooks used by high schools in both countries were selected to compare the structure,content,presentation of knowledge points,and difficulty of examples.Conclusions are drawn as follows:(1)The proportion of calculus knowledge in Chinese curriculum is low.The amount of knowledge and difficulty are lower than those in the Korean Curriculum.Therefore,it is suggested that the amount of knowledge of calculus should be appropriately increased,and the concept of limit can be added to the content of learning.(2)After the comparative analysis the text books of China and Korea,it is found that our textbooks are not detailed enough or comprehensive in the description of knowledge.It is suggested that the textbook should be more exhaustive and interpret the important mathematical symbols in the process of writing.(3)After analyzing the difficulty level of examples in textbooks,it was found that Korean textbooks focus on computing and Chinese textbooks are more balanced in terms of five levels of difficulty: inquiry,background,calculation,reasoning,and knowledge.(4)Through analysis of text papers for university entrance exams in the last two years in both countries,it turns out that the knowledge of in Korea examination is more than Chinese.The Examination Content of calculus in Chinese is mainly for monotonicity and tangent slope.In order to avoid fixed thinking on the application of calculus,it is proposed that more attention should be paid to the practical application of calculus content.
