Reading activities should be carried out in certain environment.Family is the main place for students to read,the influence factors of family environment have important role for children's reading activities.Family is the cradle of the first education,and the quality of a family reading environment is closely related to the effect of reading.Providing a good family reading environment for children is conducive to the cultivation of their good reading interests and reading habits.The construction of family reading environment must be highly attached.This research divides the family reading environment into objective material environment and potential subjective spirit,children' s reading activities will be better promoted by constructing these two aspects.This research adopts the methods of questionnaire investigation and interview.Taken the primary schools of changsha urban area,suburban junction,three suburban area of the school as the research object,a random sample questionnaires for of three or four grade,interviews were conducted with students and their parents.The main content of the survey is the condition of the primary school students'reading environment,including the objective material environment and the potential spiritual environment,and the potential mental environment mainly refers to the factors that influence the parents.Combining survey data and interviews to explore the problems in the family reading environment,and to analyze the causes of problems in the reading environment of primary school students.In order to promote the extracurricular reading activities of primary school students,the improvement measures and strategies were provodied from the perspective of family reading environment.This survey reflected that following problem are exsisted in the family reading environment:the lack of diversity of extracurricular reading books in objective environment;Not enough time to read;Single reading mode;In terms of potential mental environment,parents have obvious utilitarian orientation towards children's extracurricular reading activities;The family lacks a good reading atmosphere;Parents do not have good reading habits;Parents lack guidance and communication on children's extracurricular reading.The author combined with previous research foundation put forward the following strategies:first,necessary strategies must be taken for parents to know the importance of extracurricular reading;In the second place,to provide a scholary family reading enviroment for children,parents can choose suitable reading materials,provide a suitable enviroment to read and build a diversified way of reading;Third,parents should create a good atmosphere for family reading;Fourth,creat parent-child reading activities;Fifth,promote reading cooperation of the family and school.
