With the development of economic globalization,the international situation is becoming more and more complicated,the activities concerning domestic separatist forces are frequent,in addition,the western ideology and culture dilute the consciousness of national territorial sovereignty under the market economy,therefore,the consciousness of territorial sovereignty of Chinese people needs to be strengthened urgently.However,the contemporary primary and middle school education ignores the cultivation of territorial sovereignty consciousness,and the students lack the sovereignty consciousness.The junior middle school stage is the key period for the formation of students' outlook on life and values.Therefore,it is of great realistic and long-term significance to cultivate students' consciousness of territorial sovereignty at this stage.Cultivating students' consciousness of territorial sovereignty in junior middle school history teaching is the need of patriotic education,national defense education as well as academic evaluation of junior high school,at the same time,it is also the requirement of the new history curriculum;the characteristics of students' physical and mental development in junior middle school,the extensive resources of territorial sovereignty consciousness in history textbooks and the characteristics of school education provide all kinds of conditions as well as support for cultivating students' consciousness of territorial sovereignty in junior middle school.To cultivate the consciousness of territorial sovereignty in history teaching is mainly to nurture the concept of time and space,the legal consciousness and thehistorical consciousness of junior high school students.In history teaching,we can sort out the training strategies and methods from the perspectives of teachers and students.Teachers can cultivate students' consciousness of territorial sovereignty by digging deep into the teaching contents and adopting various teaching methods.Students can improve their sense of territorial sovereignty by reading extracurricular books,watching film and television works,visiting cultural relics and historic sites,and so on.In the training process,we should also take seriously the sense of territorial sovereignty,pay attention to the infiltration of subjects and the combination of school,family as well as society.This paper briefly discusses how to cultivate students' consciousness of territorial sovereignty in junior middle school history teaching,aiming to make history teachers and junior middle school students attach importance to it and have reference to it in their daily teaching,and at the same time,through the cultivation of junior high school students' territorial sovereignty,the students could enhance their sense of mission and responsibility in safeguarding the country's territorial integrity and unity.
