With the development of science and technology and the progress of society,mathematics has been applied more and more to other subjects,and the application of mathematics has become an important task in mathematics education.As a bridge,mathematical modeling contacts the pure mathematics knowledge and the practical mathematical application of life subtly,the cultivation of the mathematics application ability for the students played a vital role.High school mathematics should be trained and improved on basic knowledge,basic skills,thinking,operation,space imagination,etc.For developping and improving the ability to apply mathematical analysis and solve practical problems.And function as one of the most important content of high school mathematics curriculum,runs through the whole high school mathematics,and in other disciplines such as physical and has a wide range of applications,but also is a important module in every region’s each year the university entrance exam.At the same time,most of the mathematical models that middle school students come into contact with in mathematical modeling activities or competitions at home and abroad are function models.For example: elementary function model,optimization model,population model,non-analytic function model,etc.It can be seen that functions are closely related to mathematical modeling,so it is very important to apply mathematical modeling ideas to the teaching of middle school functions.According to the research findings,there is less research on the relevant teaching cases.Based on this,this paper studies from the following aspects:(1)Through literature review,the application of mathematical modeling thought in high school function teaching is investigated;(2)It introduces the basic theoretical knowledge briefly involved in this paper;(3)Making some questionnaires for some high school teachers and students about the application of mathematical modeling in high school function teaching,and the results were analyzed and summarized;(4)The introduction of mathematical modeling ideas or cases in function teaching classroom is summarized;(5)A case study of mathematical modeling of high school function and specific teaching design.
