Gratitude is a new field of positive psychology and a positive personality quality.Foreign studies on gratitude began earlier than domestic researches and achieved greater results in theoretical research.Many of domestic researches were conducted on the basis of foreign studies.There is a lack of research on the characteristics of gratitude in China.Most of existing researches are focused on adults.Empirical research is more scarce.In recent years,the phenomenon of the lack of gratitude in young people in China has attracted widespread attention.It is important for young people to grow healthily to conduct an empirical study of adolescents' gratitude and to explore educational strategy to improve their gratitude.A total of 239 migrant junior high school students from three junior high schools in Zhengzhou City,Henan Province were surveyed by means of the questionnaire of junior high school students' social support scale,junior high school students' school adaptation questionnaire and junior high school students' gratitude questionnaire.Thirty interviewees were selected to interview.We analyzed the relationship among gratitude,social support and school adaptation of migrant junior high school students,and on this basis,we explode the intermediary effect of gratitude between social support and school adaptation.The conclusions are as follows:First,there are significant gender differences in the gratitude of migrant junior high school students and in all dimensions,and the score of boys is significantly lower than that of girls.Second,migrant junior high school students whose parents with high school education and junior high school education have significant differences in things orientation dimension of gratitude,and the score in things orientation dimension of gratitude of migrant junior high school students whose parents with high school education is significantly higher than that of migrant junior high school students whose parents with junior high school education.Third,there is a significant positive correlation between social support and gratitude for migrant junior high school students.Forth,there is a significant positive correlation between social support and school adaptation.Fifth,there is a significant positive correlation between gratitude and school adaptation.Sixth,gratitude plays a partial mediation effect between social support and school adaptation.On this basis,we put forward the educational strategy for migrant junior high school students from the two aspects of gratitude and social support.
