With the rapid development of economy in China,ideological and political education has become one of the main content of spiritual civilization construction in our country.Moral education,as an important part of ideological and political education,plays an important role in the socialist ideological and ethical construction in our country.Xunzi is a prominent thinker and educator and he is an epitome of the Pre-Qin Period Confucianism.On the basis of absorption of “the study of hundreds of schools”,Xunzi has developed his own moral education thought.Xi Jinping stressed to absorb ideas and essence of Chinese excellent traditional culture and he stressed to strengthen the exploration and elucidation of the value of excellent traditional culture.His moral education has a distinct sense of uniqueness and times and his thought suits to the concept of modern education of “Education first,moral education ahead”.Xunzi's moral education thought can not simply contribute to the Chinese ancient education thought,it also contributes to strengthen the socialist ideological and ethical construction and the socialist spiritual civilization construction.It provides profound cultural deposits and spiritual power for realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.This thesis focuses on the moral education thought of Xunzi and it explores its rich ideological connotation and its contemporary value.On the basis of the relevant achievements of Xunzi's moral education thought,this paper analyses the background and the origin of Xunzi's moral education thought from the view of society and personal experience.Judging from the origin of Xunzi's moral education thought,on the one hand,his thought is from the inheritance and innovation of Confucius moral education thought.On the other hand,his thought is from the criticism and absorption of Tao mohism.On the basis of above analysis,this thesis explores Xunzi's main moral education theory from Xunzi's moral education in three aspect,which is goal,content and method.In the aspect of Xunzi's moral education goal,he puts forward the primary goal of moral education of “scholar”,the common goal of moral education of “gentleman”,and the lofty goal of moral education of “saints”.In the aspect of Xunzi's moral education content,he puts forward the view of humanity of “The chemical property gets up false”,the view of justice and benefits of “the importance of honor”,the view of etiquette and law of “Deepening etiquette and strengthening law”,and the view of ecology of “Nature is the true law”.In the aspect of Xunzi's moral education method,he puts forward the method of self-discipline of “cautiousness”,the method of practice of “Action is better than knowledge”,the method of environment edification of “the importance of environment and custom” and the method of model demonstration of “Teacher being a paragon”.On the basis of above analysis,this thesis analyses the historical contribution and the limitation of his thought and it appraises Xunzi's moral education thought dialectically.In the end,the thesis explores the value of Xunzi's moral education thought on ideological and political education from goal,content and method of ideological and political education.
