Since 1999,under the background of strong national policy support,China's higher vocational education has experienced great development.Various types of higher vocational and technical schools have mushroomed throughout the country and have spawned a large number of excellent secondary vocational schools.Higher vocational colleges, which resulted in the passive promotion of a large number of secondary vocational teachers to higher vocational teachers. When they were employed, they were secondary vocational teachers. They adapted to the positions of secondary vocational teachers and became higher vocational teachers after upgrading, accompanied by a number of columns.Teacher professional development issues.Converting teachers from secondary vocational schools to higher vocational teachers puts forward higher requirements on teacher competence.Teachers need more advanced educational concepts, professional qualities and professional abilities. This paper researches on the status and promotion strategies of the competency of teachers in higher vocational colleges using M colleges as a case.According to the related work of the teacher team construction since the M colleges were upgraded,M colleges have passed the “old take new”,“Teachers with the Truth”,and “One Teacher Two Classes” after the promotion, and the external experts have entered the college and young teachers.Training competitions and other methods promote teachers' education and teaching ability;promote teachers' scientific research capabilities through increasing research funding, hosting academic conferences, and strengthening academic exchanges.Teachers' practical ability can be promoted through the integration of production, teaching, and research through the integration of young teachers into primary and secondary classrooms.Promote.By investigating the competency of teachers in M universities from the following aspects: theoretical literacy, teaching ability, practical ability, scientific research ability, student management, personal traits, and occupational attitude,we found that the higher the age is,the higher the teacher's competency is,and the higher the title is,the better the teacher is.The higher the power, the gender has no significant effect on the teacher's competence. The master's degree has the highest teacher's competency, and the teacher's cognitive competence in the secondary vocational school is higher before the promotion. The main problems in the development of teachers' competency in M colleges are the lagging role of the old teachers' role change after the promotion, the poor research ability of the old teachers, the poor ability of the new teachers to take up the training, the lack of teaching ability for masters, and the professors and associate professors.Teachers with professional titles have job burnout, etc. These problems are also common problems in China's higher vocational colleges. To improve the competence of teachers in higher vocational colleges,it is necessary to improve the pre-service training of newly recruited teachers from the school level, improve the teaching and learning ability of new teachers, strengthen the research training of old teachers, and improve the research ability of old teachers.Establishing a school-enterprise cooperation mechanism to enhance teachers' practical ability is very important. In addition, teachers should learn in their work situations, improve their competence in teachers, actively participate in business practices, enhance their practical ability, actively participate in scientific research activities, and enhance their scientific research capabilities.
