In order to vigorously develop vocational education and provide the traditional textile industry with qualified talents, the team of teachers with reasonable structure and high comprehensive quality that adapts to the development of higher vocational education of modern textile should be established. The construction of the team of teachers is the most basic part of the teaching construction, which is also the top priority. It is the fundamental guarantee for the improvement of China’s higher vocational education of textile, and the infrastructure of the development of higher vocational education of textile. The team of teachers with high comprehensive quality can cultivate personnel with high quality and sustainable development ability for the textile industry.This thesis is divided into five parts. It gives a detailed study and puts forward strategies for how to build the competency model of teachers of higher vocational education with the background of the textile industry.Chapter One:Introduction. Through the introduction, the issues, contents, and framework of the present study can be clear. It expands the mind for the empirical stud.Chapter Two:Review of relevant theories at home and abroad. This chapter is fundamental to this thesis. Through the review of relevant domestic and foreign literatures, the overview of relevant theories, and the understanding of research situations of competency, including different scholars’ understanding on the connotation of competency and competency model, the analysis of status and trend of competency research, the theoretical system and research basis of this thesis have been built.Chapter Three:Analysis of current situations of the textile industry and the construction of teachers of higher vocational education in this area. Through the analysis of the textile industry and the construction of teachers of higher vocational education in this area, the problems and defects in the construction of teachers have been identified, and the genetic analysis has been carried out. It lays the foundation for the following model building.Chapter Four:The construction of competency model for teachers of higher vocational education with the background of textile industry. This chapter selects the representative case to conduct the logical proof and case study. Based on current studies and practices in competency theory and achievements in building teachers of higher vocational education, it uses the behavioral event interview to refine 30 competency elements of teachers of higher vocational education. Then, it develops the questionnaire, and carries out the questionnaire survey for 100 students and 70 teachers at Chengdu Textile College. The statistical software SPSS is used to carry out data analysis. Finally, the competency model that integrates with knowledge background, teaching ability, learning ability, teamwork, management capacity, and personality traits is built, and relevant strategies are put forward.Chapter Five:Conclusions and Implications.However, the study of vocational education teachers is a complex and long-term topic. Although this present study has selected the representative case to conduct logical proof and case study, it has a lack of demonstration of more samples, and it is unavoidable to use the experience of one point to lead the whole area. In addition, due to the limitations of the author’s knowledge and abilities, the present study of the construction of such higher vocational education teachers is just a beginning, and more relevant issues need to be further studied.
