As the front-line staff of the basic education,the primary and middle school teachers play an important role in the development and progress of the basic education,the satisfaction and attitude for work of them also have a direct and significant influence on students' physical and mental development.As an important environmental variable,the leadership style has a significant effect on the primary and middle school teachers'attitudes and behavior,as well as their enthusiasm and satisfaction for work.About the relationship between authentic leadership and job satisfaction,the previous studies mainly focused on enterprises and medical field,but paid less attention to the primary and middle school teachers.Therefore,the study on the relationship between authentic leadership and the primary and middle school teachers' job satisfaction was of great significance in promoting the development and improvement of the basic education.Under this background,based on social exchange theory and social cognitive theory,this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 460 primary and middle school teachers in Changsha,Zhuzhou,Hengyang and Shaoyang,Hunan Province,through correlation analysis,regression analysis,mediating and moderating effect tests to explore the relationship between authentic leadership and the primary and middle school teachers'job satisfaction,as well as the role of authentic followership and psychological empowerment.The results showed that:(1)Authentic leadership had a significant positive effect on the primary and middle school teachers'job satisfaction;(2)Authentic leadership had a significant positive effect on the primary and middle school teachers' psychological empowerment;(3)Psychological empowerment had a significant positive effect on the primary and middle school teachers' job satisfaction;(4)Psychological empowerment had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between authentic leadership and the primary and middle school teachers' job satisfaction;(5)Authentic followership had a moderating effect on the relationship between authentic leadership and the primary and middle school teachers' psychological empowerment;(6)Authentic followership acted as a mediated-moderator,which moderated the relationship between authentic leadership and the primary and middle school teachers' job satisfaction.The conclusion showed that:Authentic leadership could influent the primary and middle school teachers' job satisfaction through psychological empowerment,and the relationship was moderated by authentic followership,which was relationship between authentic leadership and the primary and middle school teachers' psychological empowerment was stronger when the level of authentic followership was higher,on the contrary,the relationship was weaker.Finally,the limitations of our study and future directions were discussed.
