Flag-raising is an important means to carry out moral education activities,cultivate students' patriotism and national pride sense in schools.With flag-raising activity at school under a specific time and space,it must contain a wealth of educational functions.However,being restricted by various factors in the real life,such educational function of flag-raising cannot be fully brought into play,which will also limit the effectiveness of moral education at school.Then how to optimize the flag-raising activities and give full play to its educational function,becomes an important task to a large number of moral educators.On the basis of fully studying the function of the flag-raising activity in the school,this paper tries to excavate out the root cause confining the effectiveness of flag raising activity in educating and put forward the principle and strategy to solve the problem through practice exploration and rational thinking on the current situation of S primary school,in order to help moral educators to improve the recognition of flag-raising activities,and truly increase the the effectiveness of educational functions in flag-raising.This study is mainly composed by six parts;Part one,the introduction to elaborate the pfunction roblem,define the core concepts in this thesis such as flag-raising,educational function;Through analysis on literature work home and abroad studying on the educational of flag-raising activities,and observation on the shortcomings and problems in the existing research,to determine the breakthrough point of this research,and then explain the research methodology and framework of this paper.The second part is to expound educational function of flag-raising activities.The purpose of flag-raising activity in the school is to cultivate students' patriotism and enhance their national pride sense.Flag-raising activities features with guiding,standardizing and motivating functions in educating the students;with different participants such as the flag raiser,flag bearer,classes taking part in the flag-raising as the objects,it will elaborate a variety of educational functions of flag raising.The third part depicts the current situation of flag-raising in manifesting its educational function.By the means of questionnaire survey,interviews and other ways,we try to understand the attitude of teachers and students towards to flag-raising activities from S primary school,and their inner experience and feelings on it,so as to figure out the current educational achievement of flag-raising;In part four,we are going to analyze the root cause underlying the current situation that the educational function of flag-raising is restricted by various factors,such as the lack of cognition of moral educators on raising people's educational function,the lack of perfect and standardized flag raising activities,the safeguard system,the neglect of students' emotional experience and the lack of practical evaluation system,low integrated cooperation between different departments,less positiveness in the teachers and so on.The fifth part displays some fundamental principles to follow in realizing the educational function of flag-raising.Only by adhering to the teaching aim,approaching to students'life,arousing their emotional resonance,exerting their subject status and integrating superior resources,can we improve the quality and effect of flag-raising and maximize its educating capability.The sixth part is about the main strategies to put flag-raising activity's educating role into good use.This section puts forward an effective strategy to optimize the school's flag-raising activities to promote its educational function,which are to strengthen system construction,serve students as the main body,improve cultural tastes,take the road of innovation,establish a practical evaluation mechanism to encourage excellence.At last,I will present some cases in my daily work to show the fruitful progress made with the guidance of the strategies above.Part seven works as the conclusion,in which I will list some regrets and shortcomings of this study,and put forward new prospects.
