Academic procrastination is the behavior that occurs in the school context and(or)academic activities.Students can't complete study assignments efficiently on time due to academic procrastination,which makes them feel anxious,tense and has negative effects on students' cognition,behavior and other aspects.In recent years,the number of higher vocational students has been increasing year by year and they have become a large group in the education field of China.It is very significant to ease the academic procrastination to promote the quality of graduates in higher vocational college.Moreover,full comprehension of academic procrastination and its influences is the precondition for easing it.On the basis of the relationship between self-worth and academic procrastination,this study makes a deeper discussion by combining literature review and introducing two variables:role expectation of teacher and professional identity.This study investigates 680 higher vocational students through questionnaires by adopting Procrastination Assessment Scale for Students,Self-worth Scale,Professional Identity Scale and Role Expectation of Teacher Scale.The main methods of this paper are correlation analysis,regression analysis and ANOVA.By analyzing and discussing the investigation findings,here are some conclusions:(1)Demographic variables,including gender,grade,hometown,specialty will,are partially different in five variables according to scales.(2)Self-worth can negatively predict academic procrastination,and positively predict professional identity.Professional identity can positively predict academic procrastination.(3)Profession identity takes a mediating role between self-worth and academic procrastination.Role expectation of teacher takes a moderating role between self-worth and academic procrastination.
