Academic self-efficacy is an important factor that affects students' academic and learning behavior, and it will affect students' academic performance, learning behavior and mental health.Individual factors, such as personality, are one of the key factors that affect students' academic self-efficacy.The middle school stage is an important stage in the individual development of students. The psychological and physiological changes of students take place in this stage. The development of self-awareness and physiological maturity make them more likely to be shy.Although shyness is universal,if it is excessive or generalized,it will have a negative impact on individual's interpersonal communication, emotion, behavior, learning and so on.Self-construal is a collection of emotions, thoughts and behaviors based on the understanding of "self-others".There are three types of self-construal: independent self-construal,interdependent self-construal and relational-interdependent self-construal,which will have an impact on individual cognition and motivation, such as self-efficacy.For senior high school students in China, will shyness affect their academic self-efficacy? What is the role of different types of self-construal? Taking senior high school students as the research object, this study is going to explore the relationship between shyness and academic self-efficacy and the role of self-construal in it.In order to provide theoretical basis for the intervention of shyness high school students' academic self-efficacy.In this study,495 high school students from Jinan and Liaocheng were selected as subjects by random cluster sampling. They were investigated by using Shyness Scale,Relational-Interdependent Self-Construal Scale,Self-Construal Scale and Academic Self-Efficacy Scale.Spss19 was used for statistical analysis. The results are as follows: 1.The overall academic self-efficacy of senior high school students is in the middle level, and there are significant gender and grade differences, boys are significantly higher than girls, senior three students' academic self-efficacy is higher than senior two students.2.Shyness has a significant negative correlation with the total score and all dimensions of academic self-efficacy.Independent self-construal,relational-interdependent self-construal and interdependent self-construal are all positively correlated with academic self-efficacy,but only Independent self-construal is negatively correlated with shyness.3.Independent self-construal plays a partial mediating role in shyness and academic self-efficacy;relational-interdependent self-construal regulates shyness and academic self-efficacy of senior high school students.
