Research On The After-school Physical Exercise Behavior And The Influencing Factors Of College Students In Wuhan City Based On The Transtheoretical Model

The transtheoretical model has been widely used in physical exercise behavior research,which can help to find out the psychological mechanism and behavior of physical activity during various stages of behavioral change,and promote people to maintain regular physical activity habits.This study investigated and analyzed 901 college students from three universities in Wuhan by literature,questionnaire and mathematical statistics to investigate the present situation of after-school physical exercise behavior,stages of behavior change and influencing factors,as well as the Prediction of related influencing factors on Physical Exercise Stage.The research shows:Firstily,College students' physical exercise behavior in Wuhan is in general.One-third of college students spend less than half an hour in physical activity each time after class,and the frequency of physical exercise is less than twice per week;more than half of them take less exercise in class than they do in physical activity.Most college students take part in after-school physical activity for their participation.Secondly,The health motivation and social motivation of college students to participate in physical activity are relatively high,followed by ability motivation and pleasure motivation,and the appearance motivation is the lowest,but all exceed the theoretical mean.In addition,the self-efficacy and athletic ability level are in the upper middle.Thirdly,In addition to the appearance of motivation,Male college students' the other four motivations were higher than the female college students',and male college students' self-efficacy and athletic ability are also higher than the female college students'.As the grade increases,college students' appearance and social motivation,self-efficacy and athletic ability tend to increase,while the motivation of pleasure decreases significantly.The ability motivation of science students was significantly higher than that of liberal arts students.Urban students' fun and ability motivation,as well as athletic ability are higher than rural college students'.Fourthly,The proportions of the five stages of college students' physical exercise behavior are inverted U-shaped,with the largest number in the preparatory and intentional stages,exceeding two thirds.Male,freshman and science urban college students have better distribution of after-school physical activity and higher proportion of regular physical activity.Fifthly,There were significant positive correlations between stage variables,five motivations,self-efficacy and motor ability.And fun motivation,social motivation,athletic ability,healthy motivation,self-efficacy and motivation all play an important role in college students' extracurricular physical activity.Finally,the author puts forward some countermeasures to promote college students to cultivate regular physical activity after school from the aspects of school sports facilities,self-efficacy promotion,sports competition,individual training motivation and athletic ability.This study will provide some references for college students in Wuhan to exercise after school.
