Research On The Status Quo Of The Function Of The Primary School Parent Committee In Urban Area Of Wuhu

Through the methods of questionnaire survey and interview,this paper which takes three primary schools in urban area of Wuhu for example mainly carries on the investigation about the function condition of primary school parent committee from the three basic functions of the organization(participating in class management 、 participating in the education work and communicating between family and school)as the cut-in point.Through the investigation,the author discovers there are the following problems in the process of the parent committee playing the function in three primary schools(calling them A、B and C).Firstly,low level and weak initiative of participation in class management、imperfect system of the organization in the process of participating in class management;Secondly,the difficulty of the parent committee meeting to hold regularly、the difficulty of parent committee to maintain normality of the activities 、 the low degree of participation and enthusiasm for the organization in the process of participating in school or class education work;At last,the inequality of the status of family and school、insufficient exerting of the function of parent-school contact of the organization as a bridge、the deficiency for the promotion of parents’ educational level from the aspect of the organization communicating family and school.The author analyzes the causes of these problems from the four aspects of the school,teachers,parents and the organization itself.Firstly,for the problems of the organization participating in class management,the reasons are that the schools don’t give the organization enough support and guidance,teachers hold cognitive bias towards its function,parents are affected by traditional ideas and the organizational related system is notperfect and so on;Secondly,the reasons of problems of the organization participating in class education and teaching are that schools have inadequate supervision and evaluation over the organization,teachers have one-sided understanding for parents’ educational resources,the parents’ understanding is not in place and their suggestion is too microcosmic and the operation mechanism of the organization is imperfect and so on.At last,the reasons of problems of communicating between family and school include the lack of scientific guidance for teachers and parents from schools、the lack of support and the absence of guidance from teachers、the uneven quality of parents、the lack of organization members ’professional ability to guide family education and so on.So in order to promote the function of the organization,the author also puts forward the following measures.Firstly,schools should increase the publicity efforts and support the organizational development;Teachers should change their thinking and strengthen the guidance of the organization;Parents should raise awareness and increase knowledge;The organization itself should establish and improve the relevant system in terms of participation in class management.Secondly,schools should establish the supervision and evaluation mechanism;Teachers should correctly treat and fully utilize parents’ educational resources;Parents should change their ideas and improve their participation enthusiasm and initiative;The organization itself should innovate and enrich the ways of parents ’ participation in educational work in terms of participation in class’ education and teaching.At last,schools should widen the information exchange platform to realize equal communication of family and school;Teachers should enhance themselves and give parents adequate training and the instruction;Parents should raise their awareness and improve their understanding of family-school communication;The members of organization should improve their own quality and professional ability in terms of communicating family and school,...
