In real life, some people will take revenge on society because in the past by other people's selfish behavior. There are also some people because of the past by the generosity of others treat in the subsequent act to give back to society. The behavior is called generalized reciprocity, namely people because others treat their past behavior and treat others generally in the same way.In the past, researchers have explored the effects of behavioral outcomes on the generalized reciprocity and mechanisms. But the effect of the originator's intention on the generalized reciprocity has not been systematically studied. In fact, intention is an important factor of individual behavior, and it is found that the intention of the actor plays an important role in moral judgment and reciprocity.Accordingly, this study concluded that the intention of the sender had an effect on the generalized reciprocity. In order to test this conjecture, the present study which contained two studies and six experiments, systematically examined the effects of the intention of the originator on the generalized reciprocity.Study 1 explored the effect of originator's intention on the generalized reciprocity by experiment method and questionnaire method. The main conclusions were as follows:(1)The behavior issuer intends to strengthen the generalized reciprocal. In generalized reciprocity, relative to the originator has no intention to make positive or negative behavior, the originator to make the positive results of individual behavior or negative behavior prompted the general others do more positive behavior or negative behavior;(2)Behavioral outcomes have an effect on the generalized reciprocity when the behavior of the originator is intentional. The positive behavior of others causes individuals to make more positive behaviors towards other people than other people's negative behaviors. There is no significant difference between the positive and negative behaviors of others in the interaction between the individual and the average person when the behavior of the originator in unintentional.(3)The effect of negative intention on generalized reciprocity is stronger than positive intention and neutral intention.Compared with the neutral intention behavior, the individual has more negative behaviors towards the general others after being treated negatively by the originator.Compared with the neutral intention behavior, the individual was treated with the positive intention of others, and did not do more positive behaviors to the general people. This conclusion helps to more fully understand the originator behavior outcomes and behavior intention and behavior generalization and mutually beneficial relations,is important to expand on previous research generalized reciprocity, and also helps to understand what kind of behavior are more likely to spread among the crowd.
