The wall is an indispensable part of the school building system.The wall not only plays the physical property of isolation and defense,but its wall aesthetics also acts as a carrier of ideology.The wall is no longer a neutral object,it is rich in the pedagogy and discipline of pedagogical properties.The wall is part of the school's architectural aesthetics and educational philosophy.It is not only the physical form of bricks and cement,but also a cultural sample full of metaphor function.The decorations such as honor plaques,slogans and paintings build the image system of the school gate,and the wall area that is specially used to decorate the honor plaques may call it the "honor wall".The honor wall is a special wall attached to school performance,school system and cultural.It is the core of the aesthetic connotation of the wall at the school gate.The seemingly mundane and common honor wall hides the secrets of modern education,which is a mirror reflecting the management strategy of education in modern schools.In this paper,the theory of semiotics and cultural criticism are used as the methodology to probe the discipline mechanism of primary and secondary schools' honor in different ways of literatures,observations,symbolic analysis and so on.This paper is divided into the following five parts:The first part: the Origin and Background of Research.It mainly describes the educational culture phenomenon of establishing the honor wall at the school gate,and carries out the literature review from the three aspects of honors,school honors and wall culture,and analyzes the current situation and deficiency of the research.The second part: the Space Layout of the Honor Wall at the School Gate.This part mainly describes and criticizes the universal architectural landscape of primary and secondary schools,and emphasizes the description of the symbol and culture of the honor wall.The third part: the Symbolic Logic of the School Honor.This section deconstructs the honor system of the school from three aspects: the naming law of honor,the arrangement of honor plaques and the power structure of honor.There are obvious administrative logic in the naming of honor,the law of decoration and the power structure of honor.The symbol structure of honor is the mirror of the social hierarchy.The fourth part: Honor as Discipline.This part elaborates the disciplinary mechanism of the honor from the sign discipline,the system discipline and the cultural discipline.Honor is actually a "punished by rewards" for the school.The last part: the Truth of the School Honor.This chapter discusses the rationality and irrationality of honor discipline,and holds that school honor should be an educational ideal.Its existence is the value guidance for the correct direction of running schools,and ultimately helps to confirm and highlight the autonomy of schools.The honor wall shows not regulation and institutionalized rules and regulations,but it is a kind of invisible rules.Its existence is the declaration of social expectations,administrative power and school performance.The seemingly ordinary wall is mixed with the characteristics of institutional anthropology and educational sociology.It is the product of the educational social practice,and it is the field of power and value competition.In a sense,the content and form of the school walls is the symbol of the national education system.
