In 2015,a BBC documentary "Are Our Kids Tough Enough?" had attracted many people's attention over the world.The difference in education between China and UK in the video which put the people in deep thought.At present,the contrast between Chinese and British mathematics in primary school has become a hot topic of education.Many essays,thesis and news about comparison have been published.In this thesis,the research compared Chinese teaching with British teaching which is based on video analysis and combination of quantification and quality.The ambition is analyzing the difference in teaching and the reasons which can help the globalization of Chinese and British education.In a setting of program which Chinese and British mathematics teacher exchanged.I attended the project and had collected some cases about British mathematics when I visited British school.According to the cases,I searched some Chinese classroom teaching videos of the same topic.As the object of this research,I used these videos which I had.Then I encoded the classroom teaching videos with Information Technology-Based Interaction Analysis System.After processing the collected data and outputting the obtained data,I got the difference between classroom teaching in two countries.Combined with the previous method about literature research,I found the causes of the two countries' teaching status and the relevant arguments of the research.It is found that there are many similarities and differences in the teaching between China and Britain.There are four opinions:1.Teaching method.In China,the teaching is mainly inquiry learning,while the British teaching is mainly discussed.2.Teaching process.In China,the teaching process is step by step,while British teaching action is a big step.3.The style of teachers.Chinese teachers are adept at oriented model of teaching,but British teachers are adept at organizing activities.4.The activities of students.In British class teaching,according to the situation,students will have more time to do some hands-on practice.It is learning from practice.In Chinese class teaching,maybe there are not enough situations.It is learning from thinking.But Chinese practice is more gradational.
