Since the 21st century, educational informationization has become an important strategy to promote the education reform in many countries, and the new curriculum reform in our country makes new demands on the application of information technology in mathematics classroom. Under the background of educational informationization, based on video analyses with quantitative and qualitative methods, this research would analyze the situation of the application of information technology in junior mathematics classroom in the two countries, with the consideration of trends in international mathematics researches and mathematics curriculum reform in China, and we would analyze the origin of this situation and provide practical suggestions. The results of the research would provide important evidences for the integration of information technology and curriculum in basic education in China.The first chapter of this thesis presents the background, significance and methods of the research, and also reviews the previous researches at home and abroad. The second chapter summarizes their common concerns on the classroom teaching by comparing and analyzing the main policies of educational informatization of China and America. The third chapter describes the samples and framework of the video study. In the fourth chapter, the author analyzed the data of the video analysis obtained at first, then did a typical case study to find more details, and then made a comparative analysis of the possible causes of the present situation of the two countries reflected by the study, mainly through the analysis of the policies and the international assessment reports that described in the previous chapters. The fifth chapter puts forward feasible suggestions and the future direction, on the basis of summarizing research results.The study shows that:There're many similarities and dissimilarities of the use of ICT in junior mathematics classroom between the two countries. The policies has made a certain influence on classroom teaching, especially in the creation of ICT-supported learning environment and the improvement of teachers and students'information literacy, but there is a long way to go for better application of information technology in mathematics classroom, like using ICT to better support teaching, learning and assessment.
