With the progress of education expansion in 20th century,every country have noticed the importance of education in the developing of economic and society,and in the fostering of citizens and competitiveness of country.Therefore,measuring education output could show the development of education and provide data for education policy making.As one of the most influential organizations,OECD has become increasingly influential in the education development and policymaking of different countries.After spent years on the education indicator system,the Education at a Glance they published every year has formed a rather complete and widely referenced education indicator system in the world.By analysis the text of education output indicators in Education at a Glance from 1992-2017,this study finds out the change in the content of its educational output concept and give some advices for the education development in our country.This study analyzes the text of the output indicators in Education at a Glance from two dimensions,one is the social actors dimension,which divided as individual,system and social outcomes from macro,middle and micro levels,another one is the theme analysis,which focus on the impact on economic growth and the social development.Take text analysis as research method,this dissertation studies the content of education output indicators.This study also finds out the changes of idea and concepts on education output in Education at a Glance and concludes the trend of changing.OECD mainly focus on the economic output of education,but along with the development of the indicators,it gradually pays more attention on the social outcomes of education.The measurement OECD used in education output can reflect the existing problems of education system and provide data for education policymaking.However,most of the output indicators measures the quantitative side of education through quantification,less on the aspects of the quality side.So,if we planning to set up output indicators in our country,the theoretical model can be a reference,and we shold learn that the indicators have to reflect the problems existing in the education system and point out the direction for the policy makers,meanwheal we have to avoid depending too much on quantifications in the measurement of education output.
