| STEM education pays attention to the cultivation of students’ innovative spirit and practical ability,and it has become the new direction of the curriculum reform in the world today.More and more primary and secondary schools include STEM education as the core or expansion of the curriculum content in the school.However,the present teaching practice has a serious phenomenon of "practice is more than enough,but lack of innovation",which detracts from the important value of STEM education in cultivating students’ innovative ability.Why can’t STEM curriculum provide the space and thinking path for students’ creative ability training? In short,teachers lack the corresponding reserve,and the current curriculum design pattern does not provide effective support either.Taking Lego education as an example,the 4C curriculum design pattern has more than 20 years of application history in STEM education,but the curriculum designed by this pattern also less support for the cultivation of innovative thinking.At the same time,it is noteworthy that design thinking,as a methodology to support students’ innovative thinking and problem solving,has a set of mature thinking ideas and tool methods,which can effectively make up the deficiencies in STEM curriculum.Therefore,this study attempts to start with the design pattern of STEM curriculum,taking the optimization of Lego 4C pattern as an example,integrating the research and application results of design thinking,and constructing the new STEM curriculum design pattern and supporting resources package,to help solve the problem of cultivating innovative thinking.This study tries to answer such questions: 1.What challenges does LEGO 4C pattern have in actual STEM teaching? 2.How to optimize the STEM curriculum design pattern using design thinking? 3.How to verify the application effects of the reconstructed STEM curriculum design pattern?On this basis,firstly,based on the large number of literature studies,this study summarizes the STEM curriculum research status and the application of design thinking in STEM education,and analyses the roles of design thinking in STEM education.Secondly,this study analyzes the concept of Lego curriculum in depth and explore its problems in teaching practice so as to reconstruct the 4 C course pattern and design supporting resource toolkits under the guidance of design thinking,and then verify its effectiveness through expert verification;Finally,apply the newly generated curriculum pattern and supporting resources from the perspective of teachers and students.The results show that the optimized Lego CI4 C double-layer pattern and supporting resource toolkits are necessary and instructive for teachers to design STEM teaching and students’ creative thinking.In addition,based on the optimization process of the Lego curriculum pattern,the design of the supporting resources and the application evaluation of the optimized pattern,the application suggestions of such curriculum pattern in STEM teaching are summarized to maximize the STEM teaching effect.The main research results of this study are to optimize the STEM curriculum design pattern from the perspective of design thinking,and to provide the teaching design template for the teachers according to the CI4 C double-layer pattern,which make up the shortage of teachers ’ reserve in the innovation teaching,provide a reference for the construction of more STEM curriculum design pattern and the cultivation of innovative thinking. |
