PBL(Problem Based Learning)is a problem-based teaching mode that enables students to play the leading role in class.Due to the unique educational value of the model,it has been favored by the majority of scholars in recent years.Using the PBL teaching model in the middle school chemistry teaching process not only overcomes the drawbacks of some traditional teaching models, but also allows students to fully develop their sense of problem-finding and skills of problem-solvingwhile building a knowledge system, even better apply the theoretical knowledge to practice. From the actual condition, the thesis adopts the literature research method to define what is PBL Teaching Model and analyzes its development status, basic elements and theoretical basis. At the same time, with the articles“Widely-used metal materials”--in the chapter 3 and“Chlorine”and “ Sulphur and its Compounds ”--in the chapter 4(all in the teaching version of PEP)as examples,a teaching case that meets the requirements of the PBL teaching model is designed and taught. Also, questionnaires, comparative analysis, and observation methods were used to master students' learning results in this mode, and selfevaluation scales and test papers were written tounderstand the changes in students' academic performance and their abilities under the PBL teaching model. Finally,it summarizes advantages of PBL teaching mode in teaching and the deficiencies in the process of practice, and puts forward some suggestions for the effective implementation of PBL teaching mode, with a hope to provide reference for follow-up researchers.
