This study takes the Tibetan college students in the mainland China as the object.Data were collected by questionnaires,interviews and field surveys.This paper analyzes their media contact,as well as their mainstream and Tibetan cultural identity in the mainland China.Besides,this paper analyzes the influence of media contact on cultural identity from the perspective of theory and phenomenon.The introduction is about the background,significance,objects and methods of the study.The author reviews the research on media contact,media contact in minority areas,cultural identity and other related fields.The first chapter is based on theoretical analysis.The autor constructs the relationship between media contact and cultural identity,and believes that media contact plays an important role in the creation of cultural communication and cultural identity.The second chapter focuses on the media contact of the Tibetan college students in the mainland in detail.In a comprehensive view,the main types of media contact in the mainland are mobile phone and other network media.They focus on the news of Tibet and the whole country mainly.They often contact Chinese media,but their demand for Tibetan media is strong.At the same time,they also have some contacts with the media products in the United States,India,Japan and Korea.The third chapter is about the identity differences between the mainstream culture and the Tibetan culture from the aspects of language,social network,spiritual culture,material culture,combined with the characteristics of media contact.The study finds that in many ways,they were greatly influenced by the mainstream culture and showed strong recognition of the mainstream culture.Of course,their recognition of Tibetan language,traditional festivals,history and heroic figures,eating habits is still very strong.The fourth chapter summarizes the basic conclusions of this study.The study holds that in China,the cultures of all ethnic groups should seek common ground while reserving differences and share common prosperity.From the perspective of communication,the author puts forward some measures to establish the media discourse system of the minority.The conclusion part summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of the research.
