With the introduction of the “Belt and Road Initiative”,countries along the line have not only strengthened political and economic cooperation,but also cultural exchanges.At present,China has become the first destination country for study abroad in Asia.The students from Central Asian countries came to China to realize the leap from the mother culture to the heterogeneous culture.The problems of media contact and cultural cognition came one after another.Based on the classification of Chinese culture by Gu Liwei scholars,this paper divides Chinese culture into material culture(dress culture,food culture,architectural culture,transportation culture,science and technology culture),spiritual culture(academic culture,religious culture,literature,art)and Institutional culture(economic system,political system,etc.),but the author mainly focuses on the two aspects of material culture and spiritual culture.And this paper selects 160 students from Central Asia to study in Lanzhou University and Beijing Language and Culture University respectively.This paper aims to sums up the media contact and cultural cognition of the foreign students from Central Asia,aiming to analyzing influencing factors and putting forward corresponding strategies.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly analyzes the current situation of media contact and media use effects among students from Central Asia.The second chapter analyzes the level of students' that from Central Asia knowledge of Chinese material culture.The third chapter analyzes the cognition of Chinese students studying in Central Asia from the perspective of Chinese spiritual culture.The fourth chapter discusses the influencing factors of media contact on Chinese culture cognition of Chinese students from Central Asia.The fifth chapter analyzes the problems existing in the media contact and Chinese cultural cognition of the students from Central Asia,and proposes a promotion strategy.
