| For a teacher,job satisfaction refers to a teacher’s overall and emotional feelings and views on the job itself and work condition and situation based on its standard professional rating system.And the result of job satisfaction has a direct impact on teachers’ working status,performance and theirs interpersonal relationship.Particularly for preschool teachers,their job satisfaction is far more influential to preschool education result in a more direct way due to the special features of their students.As a special group among kindergarten teachers,those working in rural schools assume the important responsibility of preschool education in the vast countryside in China.Thus improved job satisfaction of such teachers will directly boost the quality of rural pre-primary education and promote a benign development for the overall preschool education.Therefore,it’s important to carry out a research on job satisfaction among rural kindergarten teachers.This paper takes rural kindergarten teachers in Baoding City,a city in North China’s Hebei Province,as study object,and investigates those teachers’ overall job satisfaction result and specific satisfaction result under the influence of different demographic variables.The research adopts questionnaires and layered sampling based on different economy status in different regions and counties in Baoding City,with the method of interview combined.All data collected thereby are analyzed using SPSS20.0 statistical software with the following results:a)The average job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers in Baoding City’s rural area scored 3.563,above the theoretical average score of 3;and for each dimension(index)of job satisfaction,the result is more than 3.Ranging from highest score to lowest score,these dimensions are social identity,interpersonal relationship,kindergarten director’s management,further education and promotion,rewards and penalty system,job itself,and salary and benefits.b)The following are all important factors impacting the job satisfaction result except for class size: teacher’s age,teaching age,education,title,whether or not holding a concurrent administration position,marital status,status of the class they teach,monthly salary,kindergarten’s property,whether or not enjoying a institutional-staff treatment,school size and their intention to be a teacher.Base on the above status and our research and analysis,we should put our work in the following aspects to improve job satisfaction among the City’s rural kindergarten: to improve salary and benefits for teachers’ basic material needs;to optimize working environment for a relieved working pressure;and to build a rational evaluation mechanism for setting up an accomplishment and development ladder for teachers.The paper makes up the shortness in the research on kindergartens teachers’ job satisfaction of in Baoding City’s rural area and contributes relevant data and suggestion to the development and reform of rural preschool education in the City,boosting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration in education.Besides,the research helps complete and optimize relevant theory on the reform and development of our country’s rural preschool education and on the growth and development of the profession of kindergarten teacher. |
