Dewey is a great philosopher and educator of pragmatism.His research on aesthetics and pedagogy has its own unique achievements in both theory and practice,especially in his practice of aesthetic education,both in ideas,methods and forms at that time and of practical value.At present,under the leadership and promotion of the government,our country is promoting the teaching reform of aesthetic education in the primary and secondary schools,but in the practice of aesthetic education,it also faces some contradictions and difficulties.This article analyzes Dewey's practical experience in aesthetic education,especially Dewey's exploration of many aspects of curriculum,activities and teaching,and summarizes the characteristics and advantages of the practice of Dewey's aesthetic education in order to provide some references and inspirations for the current school aesthetic education.The first part of this paper,from the background of Dewey's life,that is,the era of economic transformation and social transition in the United States,discusses the theoretical and realistic basis of Dewey's practice of aesthetic education.The formation of its aesthetic education theory is influenced by social development,and shows distinct philosophical characteristics.In the first part of this article,the influence of James' s functional psychology,Darwin's evolution and the philosophical philosophy of the naturalism of Darwin on the formation of Dewey's aesthetic theory system are analyzed.In addition to the impact of social development,the achievements of Parke's educational reform and the flourishing development of the American Museum in nineteenth Century created conditions for the practical basis of the practice of aesthetic education.All the above foundations provide conditions for the formation of Dewey's aesthetic education thought and the development of aesthetic education practice.The second part analyzes the specific content of Dewey's aesthetic education practice.First of all,the overall situation of Dewey experimental school,including the development of the school,was combed,and then the aesthetic education value of the comprehensive aesthetic education curriculum in Dewey experimental school,the course arrangement of children's activities and the teaching form of active work were analyzed.Finally,the American Museum Education in the development of the time and the aesthetic education of Dewey in the museum education were introduced.Practice activities.Dewey always adheres to the educational idea of "art is experience","from doing middle school","school is the society","education is growing","education is life",to guide the practice of aesthetic education.It is the focus of this discussion to analyze how Dewey applies these educational concepts to aesthetic education practice.First,he explained the creation and function of the aesthetic experience.He thought that the aesthetic experience could not be divorced from practice,and the creation of art was not accidental,and the social function could be realized through the participation of practice.Secondly,Dewey has practice the combination of art and education.He thinks that the inner of art is education,and education can be art.We should promote the imperceptible and artistic teaching of art.Finally,Dewey realized the purpose of "learning by doing" through activity curriculum,so that children could get more aesthetic experience in the process of practice.The third part analyzes the value of Dewey's aesthetic education practice.The practice of Dewey's aesthetic education has brought great influence on the development of art and art education in the United States.The idea of art education he advocated was absorbed by American school art education and all kinds of outside art education activities.The influence of aesthetic practice on American Art and art education is mainly reflected in: providing a blueprint for the development of contemporary American art education;the theoretical and practical guidance of the federal art program.In addition,his practice of aesthetic education also has a certain influence on the development of modern and contemporary education in China.In a long period of time,the practice of education has been imitated in China,and its educational thought and practice have been criticized after the climax.We should use critical and developmental perspectives to examine and draw lessons from it.Finally,this paper discusses the Enlightenment of Dewey's aesthetic education practice to the implementation of aesthetic education in China.In combination with the current practice of aesthetic education in China,the enlightenment is explored from the essence of aesthetic education,aesthetic education function,aesthetic education teaching materials and courses,teaching methods and teaching organization forms.First of all,we should attach importance to the status of aesthetic education in quality education;secondly,we should pay attention to the experience and living nature of aesthetic education content;thirdly,we need to give the connotation of art education again;finally,we should explore more diversified forms of aesthetic education by combining school and outside school education resources.
