With the development of urbanization, the mobility of the population among cities has increased, leading to a dramatic increase in the size of the urban population and a change in the spatial distribution pattern of the population. The movement and migration of the population are constrained by the conditions of transportation.Improvements in transport infrastructure can reduce transportation costs and increase the flow of factors between regions. This will inevitably strengthen the flow of population. In recent years,China's high-speed rail transport has developed rapidly, and four horizontal and four vertical high-speed rail networks have been established. As a convenient and rapid transportation infrastructure,high-speed rail networks will undoubtedly have a wide and profound impact on the spatial distribution pattern of urban population in China.Firstly, this paper analyzes the characteristics of China's high-speed railway network by using social network methods. It finds that China's high-speed railway network has significantly improved the network density, transitivity, and clustering coefficient, and the average distance is significantly reduced. The overall high-speed rail network The cities are more connected. The analysis of centrality and structural holes found that cities such as Beijing,Shanghai, and Guangzhou are at the core of high-speed rail networks, and the central and structural holes in cities such as Wuhan,Zhengzhou, and Changsha in the middle are ranked higher. The results of the block model analysis show that the high-speed railway network in China exhibits the structural characteristics of eight condensed subgroups, with close internal links among subgroups and relatively few subgroup links.Secondly, this paper uses spatial exploratory analysis to determine the spatial autocorrelation of China's population distribution, and finds that there are population-scale high-value clusters in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Shandong Peninsula,Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations. The area has expanded outwards with time.Nuclear density analysis shows that the population distribution is characterized by coupling with high-speed rail lines, and the population scale decreases along the high-speed railway lines.Further,a correlation test was conducted on the population size and the degree center degree. It was found that the population size was positively correlated with the degree center degree, and that the population size increased with the increase in the center degree of the second degree. Finally, the empirical test results show that the high-speed rail network plays an important role in the spatial aggregation of the population. The increase in the central degree of the urban power promotes the concentration of the population, and the spillover effect of the high-speed rail network also increases the population size of the surrounding cities. It can be seen that the development of the high-speed rail network will have an important impact on the spatial distribution pattern of China's population. In order to better build the urban economy, optimize the urban population structure, and achieve sustainable development of people and society, the country should be based on specific economic construction needs. The plan for the construction of high-speed railway network shall be formulated in a rational manner so as to better exert the high-speed rail network's guiding role in the spatial distribution of the population.
