Since reform and opening of China in 1978,as the phenomenon of “migrant workers boom” has been spreading in the eastern coastal areas in full swing,a large number of rural migrant labor are migrating to cities. While in recent years, the phenomenon of "migrant workers shortage" has appeared quietly in some cities of China, and the scale has become increasingly fierce. The phenomenon of migrant workers return migration is attracting widespread attention as the phenomenon itself is an indispensable part of population migration and it has far-reaching impact on social economics.Education circles mainly analyze the return cost and income decisions of the individual from the perspective of the individual labor force when research the return of migrant workers. However, with the rise of the theory of new migration economics, the proposition of family migration theory has begun to reform the theory of labor migration, and the theory of labor return migration has naturally been affected. In the context of home-based migration theory, what role does the child play in it? As important intergenerational human capital investment in family decision-making,how does the education of children influence labor migration decisions? This article focuses on the impact of educational opportunities for children on the return migration of rural workers. This article first theoretically analyzes the influence of family-level child?s factors on the return migration of rural rural labor force, and it is linked with the educational opportunities for children in families, the children's mobility status, the age of their children and other factors. On the empirical side, the labor force interviewed by China dynamic labor force survey was used as a sample.Probit multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the effects of whether there were children, children's mobility status, whether children entered the compulsory education age,and whether the migrant children entered compulsory school age on return migration of rural labor force. At the same time, the policy identification variable is added to the empirical model to analyze the impact of the policies that liberalize the entry threshold for migrant children implemented by the cities on return migration of rural labor force.Through regression analysis,it is found that families with children have a stronger willingness to return;children migrating with their parents to cities will reduce their parent?s willingness to return;the entry of compulsory education age of migrant children has a positive effect on the return migration of rural labor force;the policies introduced by the cities to liberalize the enrollment thresholds for migrant children has a negative impact on the return willingness of migrant parents. Therefore, the government should intensify its efforts to guarantee the right of migrant children to receive education in local areas. At the same time,it must also increase the net income of migrating workers. The rural migration labor force itself should also strengthen skills training and enhance their core competitiveness in rural areas. And the rural governments must also introduce relevant policies to attract returnees to return home for entrepreneurship, while improve the quality of local education and enhance the return willingness of rural migrant families simultaneously.
