Mathematics plays an irreplaceable role in inspiring students'thinking.In the report of "Chinese Students'Development Core Literacy" in 2016,it is proposed that students' core literacy should be developed.The compulsory education mathematics curriculum standard(2011 edition)also points out that students'mathematical literacy should be trained.Accordingly,10 core concepts(namely,10 core literacy)are put forward,including geometric intuition,which can help students develop well through the improvement of geometric thinking ability.Mathematics core literacy.In addition,geometry itself has unique educational value.The realization of these educational values depends on the level of students'gometric thinking.The development of pupils' thinking needs to undergo the process of transformation from concrete object and intuitive image thinking to abstract geometric thinking.In reality,although teachers pay attention to the cultivation of students'Abstract thinking,the cultivation of senior students' thinking is still based on concrete physical intuition.Most students do not convert concrete physical intuition into abstract geometric thinking.Primary school teachers should not only pay attention to the cultivation of students'image thinking such as the combination of numbers and shapes,but also to the cultivation of geometric thinking required by senior students,which is also an important part of the cultivation of mathematical literacy.Based on Van Hill's theory,this study investigates the level of geometric thinking that should be achieved in elementary school stage,understands the current situation of the level of geometric thinking of senior students in primary and secondary schools,finds out the existing problems and analyses the causes.This study uses qualitative and quantitative research methods,taking a class of sixth grade in a primary school in Yanji as the research object,to preliminarily understand the current situation of students'geometric thinking level,to compare the students' geometric thinking level with the analysis of textbooks,to find out the existing problems,and to understand the causes through classroom observation,informal interviews and so on.Through the analysis of the results of this study,the following conclusions are finally drawn:(1)The level of geometric thinking in textbooks should be analytical level and non-formal deduction level.(2)The level of geometric thinking that students have actually attained is mainly the level of analysis.(3)The accumulation of geometric knowledge is the prerequisite for the development of geometric thinking.(4)The ability of geometric reasoning is the key factor for the development of geometric thinking.Based on the above conclusions,the following suggestions are made:(1)Deeply excavate textbooks to mobilize students'learning enthusiasm;(2)Guiding students'knowledge construction and cultivating students' thinking mode;(3)To cultivate students'ability of geometric reasoning and improve their quality of geometric thinking;(4)Cultivate diversified problem-solving strategies and enrich mathematical thinking methods.
