| Solid geometry is one of the core of high school mathematics curriculum and occupies an important position in the college entrance examination.Compared with other knowledge of mathematics, solid geometry can test students’ core qualities of intuitive imagination and logical reasoning. As one of the mature theories,Van Hill theory has certain guiding significance for students’ learning of geometry knowledge and teachers’ teaching. Therefore, this paper takes Van Hill theory as the theoretical basis, takes solid geometry knowledge as the carrier, and tries to understand students’ learning of solid geometry through the test paper of students’ geometric thinking level and the investigation of their learning situation. In addition, unstructured interview is adopted to analyze the problems and problem attribution in the development of students’ geometric thinking level. Finally, reasonable teaching suggestions are put forward according to the problem and attribution analysis. The objects of this paper are 122 senior high school students in Qingdao L Middle School.Firstly, the empirical research is carried out from the test of geometric thinking level. The conclusions are as follows:(1)Most of the senior high school students’ geometric thinking level is at the non-formal deductive level, while a few students are at the visual level and formal level;(2)The level of geometric thinking of male and female students is mostly at the stage of formal deduction level, and there is no significant difference between male and female students, the level of geometric thinking of male students is slightly higher than that of female students;(3)The geometric thinking level of students in each class is different, mainly focusing on the analysis level stage and the formal deduction level stage. Moreover, the geometric thinking level of students in the key class and the ordinary class is significantly different, and the key class is better than the ordinary class. There is no significant difference in the geometric thinking level between the two ordinary classes. Finally, based on the above survey, the author puts forward teaching suggestions for improving students’ geometric thinking level:(1)Construct geometric framework and sort out the knowledge system;(2)Attach importance to thinking methods and improve logical reasoning ability;(3)Teaching by means of information technology to cultivate students’ spatial imagination;(4)Standardize geometric language to improve language expression ability;(5)Stimulate students’ interest in geometry and enhance their sense of self-efficacy;(6)Adopt encouraging teaching methods and establish a good relationship between teachers and students. |
